Stamping on Photos!

How easy is this? I love this idea!! This picture was on my computer, so I have no idea where the beautiful scene is from.

I printed the image on photo glossy cardstock and added the trees from my fave set, Lovely as a Tree with black Stazon Ink.  The photo is matted on black and then I adhered it to a Pale Plum card. 

I think this card with the soft coloring would make a really nice Sympathy card.... I seem to struggle with Sympathy cards. 

Now this next card is a photo I took myself when we were on the ferry travelling over to Vancouver Island for a little mini getaway.

I  snapped this picture as we were going through Active Pass.  This is some of our fantastic scenery showing one of our beautiful Gulf Islands.  Makes me want to pack up again for a lovely little Victoria weekend away! 

 

This would make a great 'guy' card...guy cards are hard to make!  Once again I printed the image and stamped the trees with black Stazon.  I matted it on black and adhered it to Bordering Blue cardstock.

These are really fun and so easy to do...next time you see a beautiful scene, take a picture!  Then you can make your own personalized cards in a flash!

XL Flower Punch...love it!

Hi!

Here's another quick and easy card today. I really love this new XL Flower Punch in the Occassions Mini Catalogue. There are so many different types of flowers you can make with it, by changing the cardstock to tissue paper, using old magazines or book pages...scrunching or not, distressing or not...the list goes on!  These are really fun to make...try them, you'll love them!!

On this card I scrunched the flower and circles and inked them up for a distressed look. So pretty and so easy! The leaves are punched from the new bird punch also from the Occassions mini. 

I punched the sentiment out with the large oval punch and then punched a pink and brown scalloped oval, then cut the brown one in half to layer behnd the pink scallop. 

I also used the distressing tool and roughed up the edges of the Chocolate Chip layer. Hope you like it!

Supplies Used:

Cardstock: Pink Pirhouette (retired), Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Mellow Moss

Ink: Close to Cocoa

Stamp Sets: Sincere Salutations

Accessories: Cuttlebug Folder, XL Flower Punch, Two Step Bird Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Corduroy Button

Quick Card today!

Here's a quick little card share for you today! This is a 4" x 4" card using the new set, Vintage Vogue. It's absolutely one of my favourite sets!  Sorry for the blurry picture...I was in a hurry. {g}

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you have a wonderful day whether you are sharing it with someone special or not. {g} If you are sharing it with someone special, I hope it's wonderful and fun!

If you are alone for Valentine's Day then give yourself an extra hug and do something that makes you happy...beside of course eating lots of chocolate and drinking lots of wine!

I love the simplicity of this card.  All I did was wheel the I {Love} Love Wheel from the new Occassions Mini, on Whisper White Cardstock and used the Scallop border punch on the matting. I punched two holes on the side and added the Red Satin Ribon.  Done and so pretty!

Since the carstock is dark, its fun to decorate the inside too.  Here's what it looks like.

Valentine Treat Box

This is such a cute little box and very easy to make!

I cut a square with my Scallop Square Die and scored it every 3 scallops. All that's left is to fold it all together and tie it up with a pretty bow  Perfect to tuck some little treats into each little pocket.

I found the idea here on Monika's blog.  I can see making these for any occassion, just change the colours and you're good to go!

Vintage Vogue meets Paper Lace

Vintage Vogue is one of my new all time favourite stamp sets!  I love this paper lace too, I first saw it on Kimberly's blog, StampingbytheSea. She has a fabulous video on how to make it. 

I love the idea of making your own paper lace to match any project, I'm going to try some of my other border punches and see how it looks...I don't know that you can top the look of the eyelet border punch though!

First step to this card was to wheel the Very Vintage across the top of the card in Versamark, then I gold embossed it.

I stamped the flowers with Versamark, then clear embossed them and sponged the Close to Cocoa ink all over them before I cut them out.  This simple technique gives it a soft look as well as aging it a bit while showing off the details of the flowers.  I shaped the flower petals with my fingers and added a half back pearl to the centre.

Don't worry about the edging of your paper lace, you'll be covering it up with ribbon, so it will look perfect no matter what!

Cardstock:  Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Old Olive (Leaves)

Ink: My favourite (!) Close to Cocoa, Versamark

Stamp sets:  Very Vintage Wheel, Vintage Vogue both in the new Occassions Mini, and the sentiment is Vintage Labels from the sale-a-bration catalogue and is a free set with a $65 purchase!

Accessories: Little Leaves Sizzlit Die, Eyelet Border Punch, Half back pearls, Pink Satin Ribbon, Clear and Gold Embossing Powders.
